Human-caused ocean noise affecting the well-being of marine animals

In an interview on December 5, 2011, Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society international director Mark Simmonds states that human-caused ocean noise such as ship propellers, oil and gas exploration and military actions have increased underwater sounds by at least 20 decibels since 1960, affecting the well-being and even resulting in death for marine animals.
